Mr. Haahs serves as President/CEO of Timothy Haahs & Associates, Inc. (TimHaahs), a multi-disciplined engineering and architectural design firm specializing in the planning, design and restoration of parking and mixed-use structures. Mr. Haahs is also Founding Pastor of Calvary Vision Church in Blue Bell, PA.
Mr. Haahs started TimHaahs in 1994, and the first thing developed was the mission statement, which remains today, “We exist to help those in need.” The firms focus is on the design of parking and mixed-use structures that serve as “people places,” places that attract people and encourage them to return. Mr. Haahs utilizes structured parking as a gateway to patrons’ ultimate destination, and seeks to enliven both the façade and pedestrian experience for all visitors and patrons. As a licensed professional engineer and registered architect, Mr. Haahs’ experience includes not only the design of structures, but also the master planning of urban areas, transit-oriented developments and corporate and educational campuses. In addition, Mr. Haahs was named Structural Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers that year.
Most recently, Mr. Haahs was selected to work with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to develop its Low Carbon Green Growth Roadmap for Asia and the Pacific. He led a team to prepare a policy paper entitled Green Growth for Sustainable Cities: Urban Planning Strategies to Mitigate Climate Change, which served as a significant resource for the development of the Roadmap. As a result of TimHaahs’ research, the Roadmap includes such critical topics as effective parking planning, mixed-use integration, walkability, and other strategies related to the importance of proactive infrastructure planning and development.
