Marissa Wells

Marissa Wells is a journalist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is a member and leader at Faith United Methodist church of Los Angeles, where she has served for over twenty years. She completed her undergraduate studies at Berea College in Berea, KY where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with minors in Broadcast Journalism and African & African American Studies. An avid reader, Marissa enjoys sharing her passion for both writing and literature with others. She coordinates “Book Corner,” a weekly book column in the Los Angeles Wave Newspaper, where she highlights fiction and nonfiction books that empower, entertain, and educate consumers. She hopes to spread her joy of books to others in her community through the launch of her own book club, Read Wells. Marissa also serves as an Administrative Assistant in the Connectional Ministries Department of the California-Pacific Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
