Rev. Rick Uhls

Pastor Rick is the Lead Pastor at Shepherd of the Hills UMC in Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita. This is Rick’s 35th year under appointment as a United Methodist pastor. He has previously served the communities of Simi Valley, Lake Elsinore, Moorpark, Long Beach, and Redondo Beach. Rick is married to Suzanne Barron, a licensed marriage and family therapist. They have two adult children, J.D., and Jessica and three grandchildren. Rick has always understood his appointments as being to both the local church and the community. Rick believes adaptive leadership is the leadership skill required to move the church into the future. He envisions such leadership will help open the doors to great partnerships with community organizations as they work together to meet the needs of the communities they serve. Beyond the local church, Rick was involved in law enforcement chaplaincy in Simi Valley, Riverside County and Ventura County.
